Hack Your Letter-Writing Habit: Use the Two-Minute Rule

April 15, 2023 by Egg Press

Hand-written notes don’t have to be long to be meaningful.  Keep it short and sweet to make it manageable. Writing a short thank you note is better than none at all!

Letter-Writing Habit Hack #8: Use the 2-minute rule

Downscaling your habit makes it less daunting. Here’s how you can write a thank you note in 2 minutes or less:

  • Before you start writing, search “what to write in a thank you note” or “inspirational quotes about gratitude” – use the suggestions to get you going!

  • Set a timer for 2 minutes, and start writing.

  • (Hopefully you followed our previous tips by having a stash of thank you notes, pens, and stamps on hand so you don’t need to spend time looking for them!)

  • Leave your outgoing mail in your mailbox – you don’t need to find a blue mailbox or go to the post office!
