You know that feeling you get when an old friend’s birthday makes you aware of time moving at warp speed, more than your own birthday would?  Something like, “Jeez, how is it they’re 40, didn’t they just turn 30?”  (I’m using those ages as an example to make myself seem younger).

Anyway, Write_On is 10 years old.  The idealist in me goes straight to calculating how many letters I should have written in all the Aprils of the last ten years (300!), but the older, wiser(?) me remembers this is about every. single. person. who has participated in Write_On, and all of those who have received their letters.  I’d like to think that’s a heck of a lot of letters.  And a heck of a lot of love and care, which isn’t quantifiable.

That said, success!  And keep writing!  And keep in mind that it’s the journey, not the destination that matters most, and I promise you that every bit of time you spend writing– and not scrolling– will be more fulfilling, memorable, and impactful for you and whomever you choose to write than any reel of cats doing hilarious or adorable things could ever be (probably).

Thank you for making Write_On the always good-intentioned, sometimes hard, seldom forgettable, and never regrettable challenge that it is.

RIGHT ON, Write_On!!
